Hey, ladies! Its been wayyyyy to long...and my heart, lungs and legs could not agree more :) For those who don't know me well, I had a baby not to long ago (I mean, he's practically a newborn;) So that has been a convenient excuse to be, well, lazy. After some consideration I've come to the conclusion that, for now, I am a type of person who will only exercise with a goal of training for something. A race, a country triathlon, etc. If I am not training FOR something, I'm not training at all. Now, I hope that trait changes overtime. But for now, I am training, and ultimately that's what counts, right?!?!
I have been doing zumba for awhile now, which has been helpful in the transition thus far into running again. I took my first jog this last saturday. I tied up my new (hot pink-yes, Jen) lunarglides and away I went. With my ipod blasting a mix of lecrae, group1crew, and benjah--i was ready. I took off on a brisk walk from liz's driveway, headed for the 1 mile loop called 'westbrook.' Nervous, excited, but mostly pumped, i turned the corner to take off running and SILENCE. My ipod died. WHAT?!?!? that ipod is my lifeline on the battlefield of exercise!!!!!! i can't survive without it!!!! every muscle, bone, and ligament in my out-of-shape body wanted to turn around and go back home. But I knew I couldn't (partly because I knew Liz wouldn't let me in if I came back that soon;). So there I went. After two grusome loops around westbrook, i headed back for Liz's.
So this is the account of my first outing since baby (who is 6months old, by the way). And i plan to sit down in the next day or two and make a work-out plan for the month. Love you all. Sorry this was soooo long.

Jogging Strollers
Hey Moms!
I am thinking of getting a double jogging stroller for my two youngest. My oldest can ride his bike beside me, which I am thankful for. Any suggestions? I haven't looked at all yet, so any ideas you have would be a great help.

Heavy legs
Hello to my girls. Hannah you are right lets get this blog going. This last year has been a blur but here I am and I am still working out. The last few months I have had very little desire to work out but I just keep doing it knowing that getting out of shape is just not worth it. Every time I run my legs are HEAVY!! I feel like I am dragging. BUT, today was the first time in a run in a while that I felt like I had a bounce to my step a bit.
I am doing the half marathon in Lincoln, May 1st. We will be flying back to run and then flying right back to Virginia. I am especially excited because Jake is doing it too. That is the main reason I am doing it. I prefer shorter races but I will do it with him. i have always wanted to do something like this with Jake.
I am struggling in every way right now, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically. Working out, even though it has been very hard to keep going, has been a very good thing for me right now. I feel hope and I am thankful.
I hear ya Hannah. Although I love to work out, may I treasure Christ above all. May I run after HIM!!!!

let's do this
Time to get this blog (and our bodies!) fired up for this brand new year! What's everyone doing for workouts recently? I have been just ITCHING to get in a good routine.
Our little William turned ONE last week, and though I am still breastfeeding, it is time to get some new motivation! I've been out on the ice and snow a few times over the past weeks. I was ill all last week, and when I finally got out for some fresh air (yesterday), I cried out to GOD and thanked Him for His faithfulness to me! Even when we are down, ill, beaten, de-motivated, He is still so faithful. He never changes! I realized how much I take my own health for granted.
As I yearn to enter a new season of fitness dedication with a new fitness plan or race training or something to get me going, I am reminded of this one thing:
"Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come." 1 Tim 4:7b-8
I pray my desire to sweat it and get fit never supercedes my desire for godliness!
Now, come on girls! Whadda you got?

wasting time
Hi ladies! Long time no post.... any of us!
So, here's where I'm at with my workouts. I keep finding reasons not to. That's where I'm at. Sitting next to the treadmill and glancing at it every once in awhile while I write letters, check fb....glance.... shop online, read my book, eat a few pretzels....glance... give the kids a bath, make this months meal plan, talk on the phone...glance... do a load of laundry.... glance...
I really need to get back on a workout schedule...
much love to all the ladies
HOW are all of you doing? any new workouts or victories to share in this area? Any races run?

LONG TIME NO SEE!
I know i haven't been on here in forever... that makes me sad! I got really busy with work and reading all these wonderful books (Redemption series!) lately and kinda forgot to keep up with this! but regardless.. Im back!
It is so encouraging to hear how everyone is doing with all their different workouts! Nothings too new with me, I'm training for the half-marathon in lincoln again! Never thought I'd be putting myself through another one of these exhausting "pee my pants" type events, but this time around has been a million times easier to prepare!! I think last year toughened me up mentally, so I'm up for the challenge again! I hope some of you are planning on doing it again too!
As for lately, other than my training I just ran a 10k this past saturday with a friend, and i felt great!! i think I'm actually becoming a better runner, who da thunk?!! lol :) It just makes me more excited for the big race!! This year I got 3 more friends to do the half with me and my friend Katie (the pro) who did it last year! We are making t-shirts and I'm designing them! I mean they won't be Jake Stutzman quality, but they should suit the purpose. So if any of you are running the half-marathon in lincoln and want to join our clan, let me know.. id love to include you in the t-shirts!! :) when I get done designing them ill post a picture of the design!!
JEN, LIZ.. ITS NOT TOO LATE!! I mean so what if you have no time to train and have 4 or 5 kids to take care of right?! JUST KIDDING, i know i'm ridiculous. Right now you're probably saying, "if she only knew what it was like to have a child or 2 or 4 or 5." :) So I guess ill shut up and say, I look forward to when we can all run it together!! JEN, when i get to hastings your going to have a new work out buddy! And guess what, it will be summer so no smelling people's stinken perfume at the gym, we'll be OUTSIDE! :)
Love reading everyones posts! have a good week everyone!

miss my shoes
Thought I'd say a little hello....was missing my running shoes today and thought of this great blog. I have 4 days until our little #3 is due and I've been dreaming about running again. The day will be so nice, I think I will put on my runners and get out to navigate the ice/snow/slush in an attempt to get this person out! I'm really ready! I've got a big workout coming up! Bring it on.
